CFS Wins Men’s Division Without Losing a Single Set!



Center for Foundation Studies (CFS) has lifted the trophy of Men’s Division at MNUSU Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament after making a perfect 100% winning record. They never lost a single set in the whole tournament!

15 teams from both divisions participated in this tournament open to all centres and Faculties of Maldives National University (MNU). CFS secured the title after defeating MNU Business School 3 sets to nil at the final.

The final match, around a huge supporters crowd with screams of cheering from both sides, saw a competitive play. CFS secured the first set of the match easily with a score of 25-18. However, MNUBS came back strongly in the second with an early big lead. Unfortunately, they couldn’t deliver the final blow, of which CFS took the advantage and won the set with a score of 28-26. CFS then secured the title by winning the 3rd set mercilessly with a score of 25-11.

This is the first ever champions title for CFS. Last year they were knocked out at the semi finals by the champions of that edition, FHTS, after a mouth watering clash that ended 2-3 against CFS.

The best player of Men’s Division of this year’s edition was Mohamed Shamveel, Jersey No. 07 of CFS. The most promising player was Jersey No. 10, Maadhih Mohammed of the same team.

The best libero of the division was Farish Adam, J No. 16, of FEST. The best coach of the division was awarded to the coach of MNUBS, Sofwan Ahmed.

MNUSU Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament 2020 was the 6th edition of the tournament. The first ever edition of the tournament was held in 2015. This tournament is second only to MNUSU Futsal Fiesta, as the biggest event of MNUSU. 8 teams in women’s division and 7 teams in men’s division participated in this year’s edition. The tournament was sponsored by Fuel Express Maldives while online media partner was Raajje.mv .
