Meeting held over Students concern about Salaahudheen building



After an uproar among the FEST students due to compromises in Salaahudheen buildings structural integrity which lead to safety concerns, the ESTA executive committee met with a group of concerned students to further discuss steps that could be taken to find the best solution.

The uproar took place during the early hours of the 19th of march 2018 when a portion of the first floor slab and beam fell down into the ground floor corridor area almost hitting a few architecture students. Immediately after the incident took place, the FEST lecturers and administrative staff had evacuated the whole building.

The meeting took place on the evening of the same day in the B1-18 classroom in MNU B-block. Attendees of the meeting include civil engineering and architecture students and the ESTA President Hussain Mohamed, VP Activites Qismath Qasim, VP Academic Mohamed Shadhadh and Media Coordinator Ibrahim Ghanim Shahid. Also the MNUSU President Arushad Ashraf had participated in the meeting and given students advice, hope and guaranteed the support of MNUSU in the search for a civil solution for the problem at hand. He also assured, that he would arrange a sit down with heads of the MNU board to further discuss the problems.
