SHATS Completes MNUSU Trash Challenge

Society for Hospitality and Tourism Studies have completed MNUSU Trash Challenge. MNUSU Trash Challenge is a cleaning challenge started by MNUSU Ahura Wing, in honor of the World Environment Day and World Ocean Day on 8th June 2019. The purpose of this challenge is to spread the love for our beloved environment. SHATS was nominated by Ahura, after cleaning a beach in Laamu Gan.

FHTS students cleaned a beach in Villingili on 26th October, to complete the challenge. A total of 9 SHATS Leaders and three SHATS exco members joined the cleaning event. The garbage taken out from the event was handed over to Save The Beach Maldives to send all the plastics for recycling.

After completing the challenge, SHATS nominated Faculty of Education Students Association (FESA) and Students’ Initiative of Arts (SIA), to complete the challenge. The challenge will work as a chain, to bring a change to our environment.
